Greatest Two Weeks Ever?

Funnel cakes, chocolate-dipped cheesecake on a stick, deep-fried twinkies/oreos, 18″ corn dogs, all of this and more at the Big Fresno Fair. I love the fair. I especially love the foods despite how unhealthy they are. It takes 180 minutes of walking to burn off the calories of a cheesecake on a stick, 111 minutes of cycling to burn off a cinnamon roll and 28 minutes of jogging for a 1.8″ square of baklava. And I had at least five pieces of baklava last year in a period of 24 hours. Fact: I lost 2 lbs. when the Big Fresno Fair was here last year. I’m looking forward to losing another two this year. Oh, and I get free admission thanks to my employee discount.

Halo 3

September 25th marked the biggest launch of a video game (and entertainment media, for that matter) ever. Halo 3 sales set an opening-day record U.S. sales of $170 million. That’s a fuckton of money. I contributed $70 to that record! If anyone wants to play online (Matchmaking or Campaign), add Sochie to your friends list.

I finally activated it:

iPhone

Holy crap! I love the iPhone. There’s just so many things to do on there. It’s basically a portable computer…ahem, laptop, but the novelty of having one that fits right in your pocket is jizzerific (Google that shit, it’s a word). I used to browse YouTube a lot before the emerging of “Web 2.0″. I rarely go there on my laptop but on my iPhone, it gives me something to watch while I’m on the can. The world clock, the slick interface, a not-so-clunky internet browser, and of course, the iPod feature is just something to behold. I know I sound like I’m whoring the hell out of the iPhone but it’s really that good. If there’s one thing that bugs me is that there isn’t a way to drag-and-drop song files onto the iPod section. You would have to create a play list on iTunes and then sync it with the iPhone. It’s a bit annoying but I’ll live. More impressions later.

I see you.

New Beginnings…Sort Of

I’m currently without a cell phone thanks to my brother’s account being suspended (I was under his plan). Due to a $1700 bill my older brother accrued, I’ve decided to branch away and get my own plan. I’ll be getting an iPhone sometime this week. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and see what phones I’ve had in the past.

Nokia 6800

Nokia 6800
From July 2003 – July 2005
Service: AT&T Wireless
Price: Free
+ Easy access QWERTY keyboard
+ Color display (most cell phones were still transitioning from B&W to color)
- A bit bulky

Ahh, my first cell phone. I actually wanted Sony Ericsson’s T610 but a friend of mine already had it. Besides, it was only available on T-Mobile.

Motorola RAZR V3

Motorola RAZR V3
From July 2005 – August 2007
Service: Cingular
Price: $200
+ It’s super-slim and quite sexy
- All looks and nothing to show for it

I was ecstatic when I first got the RAZR. No, this is not the newer, “better” versions that are out now. I have the shitty original version. I loved it for about a month but as time passed on, everyone seemed to have one. I try to advise everyone who is getting a RAZR to consider other options. There’s just so many bad things that I’d like to address about the phone but then I’d be rambling on and on.

Yep. I’ve owned an uncountable two phones. Just try and count them! My third phone’s on the way and it should reduce my load from carrying an iPod and a phone.
